English
For English I decided to continue blogging, but I wanted to take a different topic to spend my time with. I thought looking at mental illness from a "food" aspect would be interesting, so I did a ton of research on how different foods affect our moods and how they can improve/deteriorate them. I found a lot of different articles about how fresh foods help us the most, by bursting our energy and giving us good nutrients to fulfill our basic needs. This includes mainly fruits and veggies, and some fresh meats and cheeses, and nuts are also a good add-on to our diets. After doing my research I wrote blogs with different topics, such as "Food and Mood" and "You Are What You Eat," along with a few others. You can check out my blogs with the links below.

Social Studies
For Social Studies I also blogged, but for these blogs I looked at different cultures and the foods they believe to be most beneficial to your health. A lot of cultures steer in the fresh food direction, starting their days off with really good breakfasts, sometimes even including fish! I found that different cultures see food as a very important thing that we honor our bodies with, while America tends to care a lot less and eat a lot of junk/fast foods. I wrote a few blogs on this as well one being "Cultures and Food" and another being about why I chose to make the dish I made for my art piece. I also looked at my own diet and how I have to watch what I eat because of how sensitive my stomach is. I came up with a meal plan to help myself as well and diving into why I may have these dieting issues. Below you can read more about what I found in my research, and my personal opinion on the topic.

Art
For art I decided to make a dish that fused two different cultures foods together since it tied all of my pieces together, food, mood. and different cultures. I decided I wanted to make a Greek Quesadilla which is a (typically) Mexican dish that I used Greek ingredients in. The process of this went very smoothly, but I do wish I would have picked a more complex meal to make, or at least extended my entree to make maybe a starter, dessert, and even a drink that mashed the two cultures together to show my understanding even further. I did enjoy what I made, and I enjoyed making it as well. Below I have for you my blog on how making the meal went, and also a link to the recipe I used to make the dish.
